A Way To Help Out This Holiday Season

One of my good friends, Joy Hord, is a volunteer and board member for the Charlotte Community Health Clinic. The Charlotte Community Health Clinic is a nonprofit organization that provides acute medical care to uninsured, low- income, 19 and older Mecklenburg County individuals. As with so many organizations, funding is much tighter this year.

Before sharing the details of how we can help the Charlotte Community Health Clinic, I want to tell you a little about Joy (pictured second from the bottom left). Not only is Joy a successful attorney, but she's also deeply involved with the Charlotte community and a number of philanthropies. On top of all that, she is the mom to two adorable little kids. What an inspiration!

So here are the details about how we can help. If you want to get involved, please let me know. Maybe we can use the time to network with someone new and do some good simultaneously!

Wrapping for Charlotte Community Health Clinic (CCHC)

Once again, we have a wonderful holiday opportunity to raise some end of the year money, and we need your help! We realize that you are BUSY BUSY. This is a very busy time of year, and you have so many other obligations. But we need you, and we hope you can help us for just a few hours over the next few weeks.

We have the opportunity to wrap gifts at Borders at Morrocroft to raise some extra funds. Customers will receive gift wrapping for free, but are strongly encouraged to donate to CCHC. This will provide both funds and awareness to help us spread the word about the great job CCHC is doing.

If you can help...

1. Pick time slot (see below wrapping schedules). Pick a back up time slot. Most are 2.5 or 3 hours.

2. Ask a friend to join, or make a new friend.

3. Email Sashle Eslaquit at sashle.eslaquit@bankofamerica.com with your preferred time(s).

4. Show up ready to wrap and sing the praises of our fabulous clinic! Information will be provided, as well as a sign up sheet for our mailing list.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! The Charlotte Community Health Clinic appreciates all of your help every day, but especially during the busy holiday season - this is truly a giving opportunity!

Mogul Mom Blog

Heather Allard's Mogul Mom: Everything You Need to Build Your Mom Owned Business from Someone Who's Done It (And Stuff to Help Manage Everyday Life as a Mom, Too) is one of the blogs I regularly read.

Why?

Mogul Mom offers an interesting mix of information and inspiration.

A successful entrepreneur herself, Heather is eager to help other entrepreneurs turn their dreams into reality. One day, she might share wisdom from marketing guru Seth Godin while another day she'll introduce you to the Dyson DC16 handheld vac.

Yesterday, as luck would have it, Heather interviewed me. If you want to check out her blog and read what I had to say, here's the link.
